The brand new Cool Science website is almost ready! www.coolscience.org.uk
Our rapidly changing economy places ever-greater demands on the skills of the RACHP workforce. As an industry we all agreed that we must attract and inspire future generations of RACHP engineers, designers and researchers. Currently however our sector has a low profile and this needs to change.
This is why the IOR is involved in “Cool Science” a new initiative to promote the RACHP sector to the next generation. This initiative will deliver the core theory behind Refrigeration & Air Conditioning to a young audience and show there is more to refrigeration than just the fridge in their kitchen. The “Cool Science” concept and activity will be delivered at The Big Bang UK Young Scientists & Engineers Fair which takes place at the NEC in Birmingham 11-14th March 2015. Over 70,000 people will attend the event, many of whom, are young people interested in pursuing a career in engineering. This is a great opportunity to grab their attention and inspire them to follow a career in refrigeration, air conditioning and heat pumps.
In order for this initiative to make a difference we need the RACHP industry to say "YES" and we hope that your organisations will become a Youth Engagement Supporter. A summary of why this initiative is so important can be viewed here.
This project requires both financial and practical support. Supporters are being sort to help finance the stand and the interactive exhibits that will be built. However, as well as financial support we also require companies to offer work experience placements for school children who express an interest in joining our sector.
If you are interested in saying YES and becoming a Youth Engagement Supporter to “Cool Science” please email email@example.com and further detail will be sent.
