F Gas Phasedown Reform - Impacts and Opportunities for the RACHP Industry

18 Nov 2025 10:00 to 11:00

F Gas Webinar Nov 25Join us for this free webinar exploring the UK Government’s consultation on reforming the HFC phasedown under the GB F Gas Regulation. These proposals will influence how the RACHP industry manages refrigerants, invests in new technology, and meets future environmental targets.

This one-hour webinar, hosted jointly by the Institute of Refrigeration, will bring together government and industry experts to explain the consultation, discuss its potential implications, and outline how the sector can coordinate an effective response

Programme

  • The DEFRA Consultation on F Gas Phasedown Reform: Policy Context and Next Steps - Jacob Andresen, DEFRA
Jacob will outline the aims and background of DEFRA’s consultation, explaining how the proposed changes align with wider UK climate goals and what the next steps will be in the policy development process.
  •  Understanding the Consultation and What It Means for the RACHP Sector - Ray Gluckman,   Gluckman Consulting
Ray will outline the main proposals within the DEFRA consultation on reforming the HFC phasedown and discuss their potential impacts across the RACHP Sector. He will highlight the key issues for businesses to consider and the opportunities that may arise as the industry continues to transition towards lower-GWP alternatives.
  • How Sector organisations are Coordinating on F Gas - ACRIB Technical Committee
This session will explain how industry groups are approaching responding to the review through the Air Conditioning and Refrigeration Industry Board’s Technical Committee, representing professional bodies, trade associations and contractor bodies. It will also refer to how ACRIB is engaging with industry and government to share evidence on industry readiness and attitudes towards improving safety awareness and training for alternative refrigerants.

Chair:

  • Neil Roberts, Chair of ACRIB

The session will conclude with an open Q&A, giving attendees the opportunity to share questions about the Government’s approach to HFC phasedown reform.
