Becoming more active in the network

To get the most out of your membership you need to take an active part in what is going on. There are lots of ways of meeting other members, developing your professional skills and making your views known:

• Go along to an evening paper presentation
• Get involved with your local branch
• Offer to give a paper based on an interesting case study or research project
• Take part in the Annual Dinner or REAL Zero training
• Join the SIRAC research network and go along to free regional meetings
• Respond to requests for input via the e-news shots
• Make a nomination for the annual IOR Awards to gain recognition for your achievements
• Ask technical questions of the Technical Committee
• Give a talk to your local school or college on Careers in Cooling
• Offer to give a tool-box talk based on SES or ACHPI Guidance Notes
• Sign up for Company membership of the International Refrigeration Committee
• Join the work of a Committee
• Stand for election to Council
