The material in this web site has been designed to be particularly useful for illustrating concepts across the national curriculum for 11-14 year old pupils (key stage 3). It is illustrated with graphs and maps, and contains worksheets for use in the classroom or home, together with suggestions for field trips.


Elements of the National Curriculum KS3 covered:
Citizenship
  • think about topical, political, spiritual, moral, social and cultural issues, problems and events by analysing information and its sources, including ICT-based sources
  • justify orally and in writing a personal opinion about such issues, problems or events
  • contribute to group and exploratory class discussions and take part in debates
Scientific Enquiry The nature of scientific ideas:
  • relate social and historical contexts to scientific ideas by studying how at least one scientific idea has changed over time
  • positive and negative effects of scientific and technological developments on the environment
Geography Describe and explain environmental change and recognise different ways of managing it
