Welcome to the Service Engineers' Section

About the Section

The IOR Service Engineers' Section is for maintenance, service and installation engineers at all levels of experience.  It provides access to technical information and updates for engineers working in the refrigeration and air conditioning field.  The Service Engineer material is practical, useful and easily digestible.  Service Engineer members receive:

  • Four quarterly mailings with bulletins and updates each year by post
  • A free refrigerant Comparator featuring HFCs, ammonia, hc and co2 (normal price £7)
  • A folder in which to keep your technical information
  • Service Engineer Magazine (published by EMAP) delivered to you so you dont miss out on news
  • As many free downloads as you like from the Service Engineers' Secton Library guides (below)
  • A membership badge, van sticker and annual membership certificate to add to your CV

Find out how you can join this service just for service and maintenance engineers for just £40 a year  here

Existing members can renew their membership on line by credit card here.

Buy extra copies of the SES comparator for students - full details here.

Are you a qualified, experience engineer who wants to gain IOR Membership Technician status?

If you want to access all of the practical benefits of the Service Engineers' Section guides but also want to get  full Institute of Refrigeration recognition - you can apply instead for our Technician Grade Membership (and gain the right to use the initials TMInstR after your name as evidence of your status). The grade is recognised the professional service technician and applicants must have at least three years experience in a suitable role and hold an F gas individual certificate. Download a leaflet explaining the benefits for Technicians Technician Leaflet or fill in and return the application form IOR Technician Member application form and notes.
