Maurice Young
Refrigeration Consultant
Maurice is an active member of FSDF’s Board of Directors and Technical Safety Expert Group, representing FSDF on numerous industry projects and working groups. He was the major contributor to Safe Management of Ammonia Refrigeration Systems, industry guidance which effectively replaced the HSE’s original PM81 Guidance.
He continues to work with HSE in the production of guidance for industry regarding the compliance of ammonia refrigeration systems with DSEAR. He is a frequent, speaker on technical matters at conferences throughout Europe, in the United States of America and Asia.
Maurice Young has been at the forefront of Supply Chain and Logistics developments for more than 30 years. He has held a number of senior management positions and was, prior to starting his own consultancy practice in 2000, Senior Vice President of the world’s largest food service company. In this role he was responsible for the logistics solutions operated on behalf of the company’s major customers. In addition he was responsible for the design, construction, and maintenance (including the handling systems and the IT/IS solutions) of the company’s temperature controlled warehouses at more than 100 logistics centres throughout Europe and the United States.
